Senior Counsel - Civil Litigation

 Our client is a large European multinational and one of the global leaders in the automotive sector.

Reporting directly to the department manager, this professional will be responsible for civil and environmental litigation, bringing expertise in complex disputes, risk mitigation, and the strategic defense of the company's interests in judicial and extrajudicial proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead litigation related to civil liability, product defects, commercial, and environmental relations. 
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations. 
• Handle civil judicial and administrative proceedings. 
• Identify and mitigate risks related to products, contracts, and internal processes. 
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods (Arbitration and Mediation), particularly in disputes involving major players. 
• Develop and monitor KPIs for the legal department. 
• Strategic planning for cost reduction, resource optimization, and legal governance improvement. 
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence applied to law (such as predictive litigation analysis). 
• Strategic Vision: Align legal strategies with business objectives. 
• Negotiation Skills: Ability to lead negotiations with suppliers, distributors, and regulatory agencies. 
• Communication: Clearly translate legal issues for other company areas, such as engineering, marketing, and production. 
• Agility and Resilience: Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment. 
• Long-term Vision: Integrate automation initiatives into the organization's business goals. 
• Adaptability: Quickly learn new technologies and adjust to changes.
